Interesting facts about the ARIDE ISLAND NATURE RESERVE:

Aride is one of the most beautiful jewels in the Indian Ocean and also one of the world's most important nature reserves. Blessed with a wealth of natural treasures is Aride remained a wild and beautiful paradise.

Die Insel wurde 1973 von Christopher Cadbury als Naturreservat gekauft und wird heute von der Island Conservation Society verwaltet.

Aride is home to a million breeding seabirds of ten species, native birds such as Magpie Robins, Fodies, Brush Warblers and Blue Pigeons, native plants such as Wright's Gardenia and turtle beaches and rich marine life.

No vessels, except those of the reserve, are allowed to land on Aride. Visitors must disembark from their vessel and board an island boat to cross over to the island.

Opening hours:

Sunday, Monday and Wednesday: 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Thursdays by appointment only.
Closed Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Prices:
Invitation fee (includes guided tour):

650 SCR per person or 50$ or 45€.
The island is open in the morning Monday to Friday
Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
From May to September, the island is partly completely closed to tourists because of the surf

Boat transfer from Praslin is about 115€ including landing fee and the crossing takes about 30 minutes.
