There were a number of presentations from the Ministry of Tourism, the Seychelles Tourism Board, CEPS, SIFCO, SCAA, Health, SHTA, Seychelles Police, SCCI and GETUS to show the state of the country's preparations for the reopening of the borders for commercial flights from 1 August 2020.

Following the presentations, the Commissioner for Public Health, Dr. Jude Gedeon, gave a general overview of the progress made by the various workplaces, educational and tourism institutions and other bodies in terms of their preparedness and compliance with public health guidelines.

Didier Dogley, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, gave a brief overview of the work of the Task Force, composed of representatives of both government and the private sector, responsible for the modalities and measures to reopen the airport to commercial flights.

Following the presentations and discussion, the President noted that the preparations are going in the right direction, although much remains to be done to ensure that all units comply with the guidelines of the health authority. He called on all those present, knowing that there is a national framework, to continue to involve stakeholders, establish operational procedures and ensure leadership at all levels as the country approaches the reopening of its borders. He also stressed the need for continued dialogue outside the Consultative Forum, with the Task Force and the Health Authority as focal points.

The second review of the National Framework for Supervision, Monitoring and Coordination will take place on 21 July 2020.
