The population of Seychelles was 95,821 on 31 December 2017.
In 2017, 207 divorces were registered.
In 2017, 2,821 marriages were registered, 454 of them by residents.

In May 2018 the annual inflation rate was 3.59% compared with 3.18% in May 2017. Month-on-month inflation was 0.12% in May 2018 compared with 0.15% in April 2018. The average inflation rate for all items was 3.82%. Fish prices recorded a decrease (-8.01%), while prices of both other food products (1.40%) and non-food products (4.39%) rose.

In May 2018 a total of 25,368 visitors came to the Seychelles. Compared to May 2017 (24,415), this represents an increase of 4% in the number of visitors. The average length of stay of these visitors was 10.0 nights and 94% of visitors were on holiday.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, licensed accommodation facilities sold 640,004 overnight stays and 328,321 room nights. This corresponds to an occupancy rate of (60%) beds and (63%) rooms. The highest bed occupancy rates for hotels were on Mahe (76%) and for guest houses on Praslin (68%). La Digue recorded the highest bed occupancy rate for self-catering hotels (67%).

In the fourth quarter of 2017, the average number of employees in all sectors was 48,189 and average earnings were SR 12,344. This corresponds to an increase in the number of employees by 3.3 % and average earnings by 8.9 % compared to the same quarter of 2016.
