PORT LAUNAY

PORT LAUNAY

Beach in the west of Mahé

Interesting facts about the PORT LAUNAY:

Port Launay Beach is located at the north-west coast of Mahé.
The bay is very sheltered, so the water is calm and great for swimming.
From here some boat trips start to the nearby Baie Ternay Marine Park or to Therese Island.
On weekends, locals and their families enjoy the beach for a barbeque together.
The 5 star hotel Ephelia is located on this beach.

Directions:

Drive from the clock tower in Victoria at the traffic lights and turn left into Revolution Avenue. Drive past the police headquarters (on your left) and turn into the first road on your left, Bel Air Road. Follow this road over the hill to the opposite side of the island, past the Everglow shop, the Mission Lodge viewpoint and the tea factory. In Port Glaud, you will now meet the coastal road, which you turn right onto. Follow it past Eden's Holiday Resort and the church (on your right), through the mangroves, until you reach the end of the dual carriageway. Look out for the "Marine Park" sign on the left, which points the way to Port Launay. The journey takes about an hour in total.
