ANSE PATATES

ANSE PATATES

Beach in the north of La Digue

Worth knowing about the ANSE PATATES:

At the northern tip of La Digue, near Patatran Village, lies the Anse Patateswhich leads to the slightly longer beach of the Anse Gaulettes borders. Thanks to the soft white sand and the calm sea it is very suitable for swimming as well as snorkeling.

The underground in the Water is very stony, though. With high waves (especially during the northwest monsoon between November and March) you can't really swim well here because of the surf. Water shoes are recommended in any case.

At high tide the small beach often disappears completely.

Directions:

Turn left at the landing stage of La Passe and follow the main road. When you reach the hotel Patatran Village (on your right), Anse Patates is on the opposite side of the street.

Journey time from the port: about 15 minutes.
