LA BASTILLE

Interesting facts about LA BASTILLE:

North of downtown Victoria is La Bastille , once built by Ange Pillieron to a design by Alfredo Leit. After housing the Surveyor's Office in 1973, the Ministry of Education moved into the building in 1975. From 1981 to the mid-1990s, it housed the National Archives. Today it houses the National Heritage Department of the Ministry of Art, Culture and sports in the house.
