No matter where you stay, why not start the day with a delicious "Seychelles Breakfast", fresh fruit, orange juice and perhaps a glass of champagne?
If you have not already done so, why not rent a car and take your loved one on a tour of discovery through Mahé? Let the lively capital Victoria take effect on you and watch the colourful hustle and bustle while you stroll through the narrow streets. Several small souvenir shops sell pretty souvenirs and handicrafts, but you can also buy locally made jewellery in jewellery shops nearby. In between you can enjoy a cappucino at the Rendez-vous Restaurant next to the clock tower. From here you can watch the city in peace.
From Victoria you drive along the Sans Souci Road into the mountainous regions. Soon you will feel the air cooling down, the road winds its way higher and higher in serpentines and offers fantastic views. At the summit you turn right to the Mission Lodgea beautiful viewpoint over the west coast of Mahé. Here lie the ruins of the first school for slave children. Take your time and enjoy the peace and quiet far away from the hustle and bustle. Once you have seen enough of the surroundings, continue over the mountain to the other side, past the tea plantation and even further down, you will again have wonderful views of Mahé.
When you reach the coast road, turn left, passing the Mahé Beach Hotel until you reach the beach Grande Anse. The mostly deserted, powder-soft beach invites you for an extended beach walk. If you continue along the coast, you will reach Anse a La Mouche Bay, wonderful for swimming and relaxing. In the Anchor Café you can have a refreshment.
What you should definitely try is the restaurant Julien's in Anse Soleil. The area here is not only great for swimming, but is also one of the most beautiful beaches in Mahé. Let the ambiance, the beautiful sunset and the sound of the waves take effect on you before you enjoy deliciously prepared meres at Julien's. The perfect place to end the day.
If you are still in the mood, for evening entertainment, there is the possibility of a visit to the casino at the nearby Plantation Club (long trousers required for men) or in Beau Vallon, on the other side of the Island.
