Beach in the southeast of Mahé

Interesting facts about the PETITE MARIE LOUISE:

South of the Anse Marie Louise is the Anse Petite Marie Louise, which can only be reached by a dirt road and a forest path. The secluded beach is short and enclosed by huge granite rocks. Due to the proximity of a reef, the beach is littered with small pieces of coral. Because of the stony seabed, swimming here is difficult and beach sandals are recommended. Beyond the reef, swimming can be dangerous due to strong underwater currents.

The water is rather shallow but has a stony bottom. It can come to higher/stronger waves.

There is shade especially in the morning under the coconut trees.

Directions:

from Victoria southbound via Bois de Rose Road, Providence Highway at Airport and continue to follow the East Coast Road.
At the southernmost end of the road you will find the Anse Forbans Chalets, directly after that an unpaved road branches off, follow this road until the next beach where you can park your car (driving time about 45 minutes)
and follows the tarred road to the last houses. Before a farm, a footpath branches off to the left, a granite rock with the inscription "Beach" provides the decisive clue.
Follow this trail for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the Petite Marie Louise. If you follow the trail further you will reach Anse Capucins after another 20-30 minutes.

Bus: Route 5 Baie Lazare via Takamaka and then on foot along the Marie Louise and along the footpath to the Petite Marie Louise
