Accreditation of the new Ambassador of Austria to the Seychelles

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Dr. Christian Fellner, presented President Danny Faure his credentials at State House this morning.
The President welcomed Ambassador Fellner to the Seychelles and congratulated him on his accreditation.

"It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you on this auspicious occasion. This confirms the great importance our countries attach to our historic friendship and represents a renewed commitment to continue on our path of strong bilateral cooperation," said President Faure.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Head of State and the newly accredited Ambassador to discuss areas of future cooperation aimed at further strengthening relations in the form of exchanges in the field of technical training and capacity building, as well as the exchange of experience on best practices in various areas.
Other potential areas of cooperation such as environment, nature conservation, tourism, health and renewable energy were also discussed.
Following the accreditation ceremony, Ambassador Fellner underlined in his speech to the press his commitment to increased cooperation in areas of common interest for the Seychelles and Austria.
The Seychelles and Austria established diplomatic relations on 12 January 1977.
