Claudio Izzi is co-founder and former creative director of Creolor in the Seychelles, which was a joint venture between local and Italian investors at the time of its founding in the 1990s. For his expertise as a talented goldsmith and successful entrepreneur for over 30 years in the Seychelles, the President thanked Mr Izzi for his contributions in the Seychelles and for sharing his extensive knowledge with numerous Seychellois, many of whom are still involved in jewellery making.

"I thank you for your contributions, especially for your creativity. Your creations have touched and delighted many, as they uniquely combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design inspired by the islands of our Seychelles. This will remain a legacy that many generations will remember," said President Faure.

Mr Izzi has been the Honorary Consul for Italy in the Seychelles for the last 15 years, a responsibility from which he will step down in December this year. The meeting was an opportunity for Mr Izzi to share fond memories of his time in Seychelles, over three decades in the local economy, experiences in consular affairs and his plans for the future.

He was accompanied during his visit to the State House by his wife, Mrs. Susan Izzi.
