Anse Takamaka, located in the southwest of Mahé, offers a picturesque combination of clear turquoise water, a wide expanse of sand and beautiful mountain scenery. It is one of Mahé's most beautiful beaches, often depicted on postcards, and is rich in opportunities for swimming, snorkelling and even board paddling in the calm, shallow waters.

The Anse Takamaka is a great photo motif. White powder sand, palm trees and turquoise sea.

At the end of the beach is the famous Creole restaurant "Chez Batista".
The sea is relatively shallow with rocky subsoil in places. There can be high waves with strong swell.
Suitable for snorkeling in calm waters.

Directions:

From Victoria along the entire east coast at the Anse Forbans chalets over the hill of the village Quatre Bornes on the western side of the island, here you come out directly at the Anse Takamaka. Driving time about 50 minutes or the Bois de Rose Avenue to Roche Caiman roundabout (Victoria South Petrol Station), at the 3rd exit out and via La Misere to the west coast. At Grand Anse Petrol Station turn left and follow the coastal road to Anse Takamaka. Duration approx. 1 hour.
Parking available at the roadside.
Bus: Route 5 Baie Lazare via Takamaka.
Bus stop is only a few meters from the beach
