The small but secluded Carana Beach in the northeast of Mahé, offers a sandy beach surrounded by sculpture granite rocks. This beautiful beach is a popular place for sunbathing. There is no reef in front of it, so in some seasons the waves can be higher than on some other beaches of the islands. This makes it popular for boogie boarding and swimming with caution.
Directions
From Bicentennial Monument (3 birds' wings), head north on 5th June Avenue and stay on this coastal road, passing Kreolfleurage and the Rehabilitation Centre; then up a narrow gradient and you come to a driveway that leads to where the Carana Beach Hotel is located.
