Silhouette, the third largest Island the Seychelles, is a 20 km² large, densely forested granite island with five mountains visible from afar, the highest of which, Mont Dauban, is 740 m high. It is surrounded by coral reefs and is not only an important breeding ground for birds, but also a refuge for a number of highly endangered animal species and is therefore protected by 93%.
The remaining 7% of the land area are reserved for the small settlement of about 140 islanders, who have been living here for a long time, and the luxury hotel Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa with 116 guest rooms. The island has no runway for airplanes. The crossing by boat takes about 45 minutes. A helicopter transfer is also possible.
