Silhouette, the third largest island of the Seychelles

Silhouette, die drittgrößte Insel der Seychellen, ist eine 20 km² große, dicht bewaldete Granitinsel mit fünf weit­hin sichtbaren Bergen, von denen der höchste, Mont Dauban, 740 m hoch ist. Sie ist von Korallenriffen umgeben und nicht nur ein wichtiger Brutplatz für Vögel, sondern auch ein Refugium für eine Reihe stark gefährdeter Tierarten und steht daher zu 93% unter Naturschutz.

The remaining 7% of land area is reserved for the small settlement of around 140 islanders who have been at home here for a long time, as well as the luxury hotel Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa with 116 guest rooms. The island does not have an airstrip for aircraft. The crossing by boat takes about 45 minutes. A helicopter transfer is also possible.
