ANSE PETITE BOILEAU

Beach in the south-west of Mahé

Interesting facts about the ANSE PETITE BOILEAU:

A beach that hardly anyone knows, the Anse Petite Boileau is located in the south of Mahé and is virtually untouched.
Great light powder sand with palm trees lined by the turquoise sea.
Due to the waves and currents, it is better to refrain from swimming here. The ground in the sea is sharp and stony.
There are few shady places, but most of the time you are alone on the beach. In the background you can see Police Bay behind the rocks.

To get here you have to walk about 40 minutes over the mountain.
The slightly overgrown tarred road was built for a hotel project, but this was never carried out because of incidents on the construction site and workers say the area is haunted.
Shortly before the beach you can still see the remains of an old house and a stove that was probably used to produce coconut oil.

Directions:

The drive from Victoria to Police Bay takes about 60 minutes. You follow the Bois de Rose Avenue on the Providence Highway past the airport, past the East Coast Road and further south on the South Coast Road. At Anse Forbans the road makes a bend, away from the beach and uphill into the interior. At the crossroads of the police station "Quatre Bornes" turn left onto Intendance Road, follow this road until you reach Petite Police Bay, there is a small parking lot, a ruin on the left side and the tarred road becomes much narrower and overgrown.
Exactly this small tarred road you follow now on foot, after a short time you pass a metal gate on the side, now the road goes quite steeply uphill and downhill again.
At the end of the street you will find Anse Petite Boileau. Running time about 40 minutes each way.
